Exploration Cove Dissection Labs

Frog Dissection

Frog Dissection

In this guided lab, students will have the opportunity to explore frog anatomy. Using real specimens, students can get hands-on experience. They will also learn scientific vocabulary and anatomical terms. We will talk about the frog’s role in the food web and its importance in ecosystems. This experience is designed to build curiosity, reinforce classroom science concepts, and give students a memorable introduction to biology.

Owl Pellet Dissection

Owl Pellet Dissection

Here, students will investigate the diet of owls by dissecting real owl pellets. They’ll carefully uncover and identify the bones of small animals, using the evidence to study food webs and ecosystems. Along the way, students will practice using scientific vocabulary, classify skeletal remains, and connect predator-prey relationships to larger food webs. This engaging lab will encourage curiosity about the STEM world.
